Access outside the library
The library offers students and employees at Sogn og Fjordane University College access to a wide range of databases, encyclopaedias and periodicals.
To be able to use these services when you are working outside our network, you need to be able to log on to the various databases.
At first you have to log on to Fronter, and then go to the notice board of the library (Biblioteket: Informasjonstavle). The entrance to the database Idunn is located there. A list of passwords is also available, in order to log on to other databases offered by the library.
In order to search health studies databases (Amed, Embase, Cinahl, PsycINFO), an individual registration in Helsebiblioteket (Library of health) is necessary. Go to Helsebiblioteket and choose the option logg inn on the right hand side, and register before making use of the databases. Please remember to fill in the name of your faculty and your student number.
You will find a survey of databases available for Sogn og Fjordane University College here. Please be aware of the fact that usage of databases and periodicals due to license agreement only can be used in connection with studies and work at Sogn og Fjordane University College. Forwarding journal articles to
persons who are not connected with the university college is not allowed.
If you log on to Bibsys, an account of your loans and orders is given. It is also possible to make renewals of your loans here. A password will be sent to your e-mail address the first time you put the service in use. Please contact the library if you are uncertain about your Patron Id.
