This course is combining theoretical study with clinical training. It gives you the opportunity of working in-depth with issues relevant for clinical practice and your professional, personal and academic development.
The course is divided into one theoretical part and another clinical training part counting for 60 and 40 % respectively. In total, these two parts should make you able to demonstrate strategies to establish and maintain effective relationships with others, assess the health and health related needs of patients and identify and initiative appropriate steps for effective care and give justifications for the planning of nursing care of patients.
You should also critically discuss the key issues of medical and surgical nursing, learn how to answer nursing based questions, and apply professional, ethical and legal frameworks in the care of patients and documentation of nursing.
Work Experience Placement
Through the work experience placement you will undertake a short observation practice period in a health care institution/service and 6-7 weeks (180-210 working hours) clinical practice in a medical or surgical hospital ward.
You will find more information about the course in the Study Programme.
