Would you like to become a modern Landscape Planner?

The Master Programme in Landscape Planning is offered by Sogn og Fjordane University College, in cooperation with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Alnarp, Sweden, and Forest & Landscape at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.

Contents

The programme offers you unique opportunities to learn how to design with nature, i.e. how to use and preserve the nature and the cultural landscape in the development of green spaces in larger towns and smaller cities.

The programme combines subjects from natural and social sciences, and is composed by the following units:

  • Restoration Ecology
  • Ecological Landscape Planning and Design
  • Landscape in transition - impacts of and adaptation to climate change
  • Dynamic Vegetation Design
  • Urban Forestry and Urban Greening, Thematic Course
  • Urban Woodland Design and Management
  • Conflict Management
  • Master Thesis in Landscape Planning

Admission Requirements

Bachelor degree or completed a 3 years programme in Landscape Planning, Landscape Engineering or Landscape Architecture. Bachelor Degree or 3 years studies in Biology, Geography, Forestry, Nature Management, Physical Planning or similar may also qualify for entrance if the students have basic knowledge in botany. All applicants must satisfy specified English language requirements. It is desirable with basic knowledge in statistics.
