As a student in Sogndal you will never find yourself with nothing to do. Campus Sogndal is full of life and vitality, a meeting-ground for all students and interests, with some of the most popular attractions in Norway only a small drive away from Campus.

Sogndal is the largest campus at Sogn og Fjordane University College. Several student organisations are active and one of the most popular groups is The Student Association with more than 600 members. The Association is responsible for the daily management of the student house Meieriet in Sogndal and offers a wide varity of activities and student groups such as revue- and theatre group, bar gang, photo group, student newspaper, band group and DJ group.

Meieriet - the student house
Meieriet is like a second home to students in Sogndal, a place where you can wind down after lectures, meet up with friends and enjoy a cold beer. Meieriet is, as the name would suggest, located in the old dairy factory (Meieriet) in the centre of Sogndal. The bar has been given the name "Lab`en" (The Lab) and the concert hall is called "Tanken" (The Tank).

At "Lab`en" on the ground floor, you can relax with a newspaper and a bite to eat, play board games or just hang out with your fellow students. On evenings the place turns into a student pub. The place is then packed and spirits are high. On fine weather days there is outdoor serving on the patio outside "Lab`en".

On the same floor you can find the concert hall, "Tanken". A variety of arrangements take place here including discos, concerts, literary evenings, food fairs and stand-up comedy. The office for the Student Association is also located at Meieriet.

Lurkarlaget
Lurkarlaget is the student outdoor club, and they offer a range of activities such as Telemark skiing, glacier walks, cycling, hiking in the mountains, rafting and climbing. The Sognefjorden area is known as one of the best areas for outdoor activities in Norway and many of the students at the University College study in Sogndal or Førde because of the closeness to nature and the many outdoor life possibilities. Lurkarlaget is a social meeting place and organiser for all students interested in outdoor life activities.

Studentspretten
This sport association has in excess of 300 members each semester and is the students’ sport and athletic organisation. Sognahallen provides excellent training facilities and "Spretten" organises over 60 hours of scheduled training activities weekly including: football, volleyball, basketball, field hockey, aerobics, judo, weight training, boxing and handball.

The Student Parliament
The Student Parliament is the highest political body for student politics at Sogn og Fjordane University College. The Parliament formulates and presents student viewpoints to the college administration, municipal and regional authorities and Ministry of Education.
