Geohazards and Climate Change

The course has a practical focus and includes activities like exercises, seminars, excursions, mapping, climbing, sampling, monitoring, instrumentation, report writing, modeling, etc.


The area surrounding Sogndal is a natural laboratory for geohazards; landslides, slope stability, glacial fluctuations, floods, tsunamis and early warning systems for unstable mountain sides.

The course consists of three units:
